Come Play in Cape Girardeau

Deadlines at work.  Endless winter weather.  Piles of homework to help the kids with.  Summertime and sunshine feel so far away…kick those winter blues to the curb, shake things up and get away for a weekend escape to Cape Girardeau to recharge your batteries!

Snag your tickets and take in a show or concert at the River Campus.  Giselle and West Side Story are all coming up this spring.  If you’d like to catch some live music, Isle Casino Cape Girardeau has regular (and free!) live entertainment in addition to major headliners.

Area wineries are open year round and often feature special events, such as chocolate and wine pairings.  Enjoy a leisurely dinner at Apple Creek Vineyard and Winery, or sample the local wines at Hunter Valley Winery, Steele Crest Winery, River Ridge Winery or Hemman Winery.  The area wineries all have something special and unique, such as Hemman’s home in a 150-year-old general store and the tallest outdoor wood-fired pizza oven in the state at Steele Crest.

Cape Girardeau has over 120 restaurants, so hit the town and give a new-to-you cuisine a try!  Sample the barbeque with homemade pimento cheese (a local favorite) or set aside an evening for fine dining.  Local spas can also help work some of your cares away.

Spring will make a much-awaited appearance, eventually….in the meantime, Cape Girardeau is a perfect weekend getaway that will help you shake off that cabin fever!
