Due to the central location of the Lake of the Ozarks, many people visit the Lake for a variety of reasons. One reason is because of all the great events that are going on throughout the summer season, making the Lake a fun vacation spot for all ages.
For an absolutely splashing good time with your favorite jumping dog, the Canine Cannonball hosted in June is the event for you. You can either cheer on these wonderful lovable canine athletes as they compete in various competitions or actually participate with your dog. This event is open to all dogs, and let me tell you it is a fun event for the entire family. Registration and entry fee required for competitors. For more information, call 573-348-9797.
AquaPalooza is hosted by Marine Max and Sea Ray Boats, and they invite all boaters to join them for a great day on the water every year in July. Most come by boat and relax in the water all day to listen to live music form a variety of bands. This great event is fun for the family so pack up the bathing suits and work on your tan. The live music, prizes, and activities will keep you having fun all day long. Register online at www.AquaPalooza.com.
Boat engines roaring is a familiar sound many race fans look forward to at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, hosted each year in August at Captain Ron’s in Sunrise Beach. The Lake Rescue Benefit Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the U.S. and has been listed by Powerboat Magazine as one of the eight boating events “you must see.” This will be the fifth year. For more information, please call 573-374-5852.
For the outdoor enthusiast always looking for a scenic venture, the Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest is a major event in September. Festivities are located throughout the entire lake area, but major events are at the Bagnell Dam Strip, Camden on the Lake Resort, and Harley Davidson. Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the nation will be rumbling their way to Lake of the Ozarks for the 6th Annual Bikefest. This area offers some of the nation’s most scenic rides around the Lake of the Ozarks and through the rolling Ozark hills with spectacular views. For more information, call 800-386-5252.,
Just as we started off the season with some fun in the sun, we always like to end the season the same way with the Fall Harbor Hop in October. This is a great way to wrap up the boating season by joining us for poker on the water featuring dozens of participating waterfront establishments. Lots of great prizes are given and this is a great family event that everyone will enjoy.
