On July 31, fast-casual breakfast and brunch spot Yolklore opened in Crestwood, Missouri. The chef-driven concept was developed by John and Mary Bogacki and Billy Oziransky, a trio of chefs with a wealth of experience ranging from leadership roles in hotels and corporate management to chef instructing.
Yolklore’s opening menu features 11 savory and sweet breakfast items. Choose from entrées such as the Nest Egg: a buttery biscuit crust filled with Cheddar, bacon, two Buttonwood Farm eggs, pickled red onion and preserved lemon. Another savory option, the pancake rollup, features two eggs, Buttonwood Farm turkey chorizo, Cheddar, pickled jalapeño, salsa and lime crème.
Each co-owner also has their own signature sandwich on the menu atop housemade ciabatta. The Billy the Kid, for instance, is a take on the slinger that features a breakfast-sausage patty, meat chili, a fried egg and Cheddar with a side of crispy smashed potatoes.
For something a little sweet, try baked oatmeal topped with fresh yogurt or big dippers – pancakes made for dipping. Mary also offers a variety of from-scratch desserts. Look for regular offerings such as seasonal giant crème puffs and a decadent chocolate cake for breakfast among rotating goodies including gooey butter cake, blueberry coffee cake and salted-caramel brownies.
