Missouri State Fair

Wow, we had so much fun at the Missouri State Fair this weekend. I am bad, I must admit, I have never been there other than for work purposes, so I decided my family needed to attend. I am so glad we did. The traffic to get in wasn’t bad and the admission fee, $8 per adult, is very minor, when you see what there is to do.

We arrived just before lunch time, walked around a little and then scoped out what fair fare they had to offer. Anything fried is always a must when you visit a festival or fair, so we all opted for foot-long corn dogs, yummy!

Right after lunch we headed for the Amazing Anastasini Circus. The performance was incredible, everything from Diablo juggling, to balancing acts, to aerobatics. The best part, the price to see this is included with admission.

Following the circus we decided to walk around the fair to see what there was to see. Cale and I rode the carousel and caught some air on the giant slide. I was really surprised to see water rides there like bumper boats and the log ride.

If animals are what you want, animals are what you will get. We saw pigs, horses, cows, turkeys, goats, baby chicks, pheasant and rabbits, to name a few. They also had a lot of farm equipment that kids and adults could climb into and see up close. That thrilled both of the males in my life!

Cale couldn’t take the excitement anymore, so he fell fast asleep in his stroller. This gave my husband and me some time to walk around the commercial buildings to see what people had to sell. People were buying things like crazy and we walked out with some hot wings sauce from Ott’s, a Missouri company. Can’t wait to try this next time we have a get together with friends.

I was very impressed with the State Fair, and you can bet we will return next year!
