Mizzou hosts OU for Homecoming

In case you hadn’t heard, the University of Missouri Tigers will host the Oklahoma Sooners for this weekend’s MU Homecoming game. The sports world is abuzz about the contest, as it pits the newly minted BCS No. 1 Sooners against the hometown (and No. 11 BCS ranked) Tigers.

It’s a big enough deal that ESPN’s College Gameday will be in town for the contest. That’s right, analyst Lee Corso will don either the Boomer Sooner or Truman the Tiger headgear at about 10:58 a.m. this Saturday.

In any event, we’d like to know what you think about the upcoming contest. So, now here’s where you want to pay attention.

Use the “comments” function on this blog to send us your prediction for the outcome of Saturday’s game (example: Missouri 24, Oklahoma 17). If you get it right, you’ll win a special prize package that’s been donated courtesy of the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The prize pack includes two tickets to see the Missouri men’s basketball team host Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. The winner also will receive two Missouri shirts in the package of treats.

So send your comments and please include a valid e-mail so we can contact you in case you win. In the event of a tie, the Missouri Division of Tourism will enter all the contestants’ names into a random drawing, from which the outright winner will be selected.

We will accept submissions through 12 noon central time on Friday, Oct. 22.

Good luck and Go Tigers! M I Z … Z O U
