My two-year-old has been asking to ride a school bus since he was able to say the words. This weekend he will finally get to do just that. We are going to attend, weather permitting, the Salute to Veteran’s Air Show at the Columbia Regional Airport in Columbia, Mo.
I have attended this show many years in the past and was very excited for my son to finally get to an age that he would enjoy attending as well. Not only is this an opportunity for him to get to see inside a variety of airplanes, but they also have a solo aerobatic demonstration, an A-10 Thunderbolt demonstration, team aerobatic demonstrations and much more.
The best part of the entire thing is that the show is free. There is a $3 charge per person for a round trip bus ride, but that is a small fee that I am happy to pay to see my son’s expression when he gets to ride on that school bus and see all the planes.
The show is from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24. For more information on this show, visit www.salute.org.
I will report back to you next week and have some pictures to share as well.
