Greetings from Branson! As many of you know, on February 29, an EF2 tornado hop-scotched along the famous “Branson 76 Strip.” We will probably end up calling it the “Leap Year Tornado.” News crews from all over the country descended on our town of 10,000 to report the “devastation.” I was amazed at how Mother Nature hit hard some properties and left the ones on either side virtually untouched.
Here is what we know, six (6) of our more than 30 theatres had damage. Twenty two (22) of our more than 200 hotels will need repairs. Mostly we are thankful there was no loss of life. I believe one critical injury was reported.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the other communities in the Midwest and the Southern parts of the United States that were devastated by the tornadoes this week.
This weekend, as I was driving down the Branson 76 Strip, I saw our Branson guests seeing shows, shopping, zip lining, riding go carts, playing mini golf and much more!
Our Baldknobbers’ theatre did have some damage. The debris and clean up moved the opening of our 2012 show to Thursday, March 8. Many of our show friends will open their 2012 season this week as well. Please know that Branson is Open for Business and ready to receive the millions of visitors who choose Branson for their vacation each year.
At the Baldknobbers, our tradition of producing an all-new show each season keeps guests coming back year after year. This year’s show is fast-paced and packed with No. 1 country hits, traditional country favorite’s lots of hilarious comedy.
It is the great country music and side-splitting comedy that have made the Baldknobbers show popular from generation to generation. Don’t miss “The Show That Started It All” Branson’s first show, the Baldknobbers!
