As the days of summer draw to an end and the kids get ready to go back to school, there’s still time to create some last minute summer memories. For starters, travelers can attend the Missouri State Fair which will take place Aug. 12-22, in Sedalia, Mo. There, guests can expect a wide range of tradition, family values and fun at an affordable price. From the rural lifestyles showcase to entertainment, the Missouri State Fair provides many opportunities to “grow great memories.”
Back in June, I had the opportunity to attend the kick-off party which gave me only a little taste of the fair. Truthfully, I’ve never been to the fair and am looking forward to attending this year for the first time. It’ll be a good experience to mingle and celebrate with others everything Missouri’s about. I’ve heard positive things about the fair and am eager to experience it for myself. It’ll be neat to check out some of the new competitions at the fair, such as the Mystery Sack Contest and the Baking Sugar-Free Recipe Contest, and the Missouri First Lady’s Pie Contest. But most of all, I’m looking forward to the food — It’s not every day you get to eat funnel cake!
